You shop, I shop

After the tremendous fun of the Early Bird Sale, I had to do some serious shopping to restock the shelves.  UPS and FedEx came with the first shipment of goodies. These boxes contain LOTS of Cascade and Debbie Bliss yarns.

Lorna's Laces and Blue Sky Alpacas should be arriving next week.

The first wave of books also came. I was going to tell you about the arrival of the Winter issue of Interweave Knits last Thursday.
But, as of this afternoon, we are sold out. If you see it at the bookstore, I highly recommend that you snatch up a copy - there are many must knits. Including a possible Knit Along to keep us busy this winter. Mindy and Mary Ellen had the brilliant idea to turn this Celtic Tote
into a Deployment KAL. Scott is going out on another deployment with the Navy starting after Thanksgiving, so they thought it would be fun and a good distraction to knit this gorgeous bag.  They inspired many others, and it has taken on a life of its own!

Back to the new books:
Some are restocks of books we have had before-
Others are new and have been eagerly anticipated:

Only one copy remains of Cat Bordhi's New Pathways for Sock Knitters. The rest were snatched up right out of the box! I think perhaps we scared the delivery guy by literally pouncing on the boxes.

And, we have a little therapy for your feet - sock yarn with aloe. Nothing like moisturizing your toes while you walk!
Oh, before I forget, we'll be doing the Holiday Wish List again list year. Many of you have asked when the cards will be available.  The were printed today and you can pick one up at the shop anytime. For those who are wondering, "what the heck is she talking about?", the Holiday Wish List is our way of helping you fulfill your fiber fantasies, while making the holiday shopping easier on your loved ones.

Here's how it works.  You stop by, or call, or email your "wish list" (yarn, needles, books, gift certificates... you get the idea).  We file your list away until your loved one stops by (or calls - phone orders are easy and great for those living far away, wondering, "what can I get them? I know they knit, but what does that mean?").  We give them the list (and explain what dpns, worsted weight, and the such, are and help them find it).  Then, we keep track of what has come off the list.  Here's the strict part - no peeking! You are NOT allowed to check you card and see what people may or may not have gotten for you. It's all about the surprise.

Enjoy dreaming up your list!
