What did you do with yours?
Technically, I only had one snow day since the shop was open today. But, I got to watch the snow drifting down out our big front window this morning, so it kinda counts.
I love snow days and had this one very well planned. The Brunswick school system got me off to an unexpectedly early start with a 5am wake-up call. Did you know they now CALL you to tell you that school is cancelled? And they call at 5am!
As someone who is most decidedly not a morning person (I need 3 cups of coffee before I can speak coherently), a 5am blast from the phone is just not ok. Especially when we all know that when the phone rings between the hours of 11pm and 5am, chances are it isn't good news.
Who exactly came up with the brilliant notion that parents needed to know that school was cancelled before the sun comes up? Why isn't the old fashioned, let 'em watch the scrolling list on tv, or listen to the radio, or even check the web, sufficient?
On the plus side, the early call did give me a couple of quiet hours to knit while the rest of the house slept.
I finished what yarn I had wound for the Citrus Yoke Pullover and I think I might be ready to bind off. Have to try it on to be sure. This is a very fast knit - very satisfying.

I finished the first of my grandmother's socks and cast on for the other one today. They got hit even harder by the storm since they live Downeast. She needs her warm socks asap.
