Jaywalking

I’m kinda late to the party, but I finally cast on for the Jaywalker socks from Grumperina. (Free pattern! And knit by EVERYONE, except for me, until now, so you know it is good.)

Anna, Andrea, and Sarah all convinced me to give it a try and I love it. Must be why I’m already past the heel.  I’m using Lorna’s Laces in the Sweetie colorway.  I love the way the pattern makes the yellow pop.

And I just realized that they go with my new Crocs.  Score!

Even Peter was impressed.  I was knitting along, when he said hey, that’s pretty cool - the way it does that. HIGH praise.  And I think a hint that I haven’t finished his sweater or socks.  But, I digress.

Jaywalkers.  Pattern is great. After a couple rows you have it and don’t need to carry around the pattern (except for the heel part).  Great for traveling around and such.

I’m also finishing the knitting portion of my Spunky seamless cardigan.

This one knit up incredibly quickly. Helped along by the size 10 needles. I just need to weave the ends, locate a perfectly coordinating zipper, and then take a deep breath as I put in my first zipper. But. I WILL DO IT.  The cardigan fits perfectly and looks great on me (if I do say so myself), so I need to finish it so I can live in it.

UPS was very kind to us today.  They brought more cotton/wool blend sock yarn from Lana Grossa:

The ball winders I ordered AGES ago:

And more Molly bags from Lantern Moon:

The day ended with Jocelyn showing her completed pair of buzzy bee socks:

She made these for a bee keeper. My dad is a bee keeper.  Perhaps he needs a pair.  Maybe I can get Amy to work up a skein without the pink.  Not so sure Dad would wear the pink.
