Did you notice the frost on your windshield this morning? Or your breath as you stepped out the door? Did you think, maybe it's time to pull out the hats, scarves, and mittens?
Well, I've got the best hat pattern for you or anyone on your knitting list. Since it is a chunky knit, it will whip up fast. Check out the Snowboarder Hat That Rocks! It is a free pattern on Ravelry.com and the designer's website.

Look at those fabulous cables! David made our shop sample out of Malabrigo Chunky. It took 2 skeins. Other great yarn options? Spud and Chloe Outer. Cascade 128 Superwash. For a super soft version, try Cascade's Baby Alpaca Chunky. Debbie Bliss's Donegal Tweed Chunky would make those cables really pop!
Notice that cute neckwarmer around our model's neck? That is the Paddington neckwarmer, an easy knit and the perfect compliment to your Snowboarder Hat. It takes just one skein of any of the chunky yarns mentioned above.
While you're here, reading along, I want to share a special moment. Yesterday was a big day in our house. Alec turned 7 years old!! As the mommy, it is almost impossible to think that my baby is a big 7 years old. Didn't we just bring him home from the hospital, wrapped up like a small little package? I feel like I am snatching at the wind trying to hold onto each fleeting moment of his childhood. While the speed at which it is all flying along can bring tears to my eyes, I am, more than anything, incredibly grateful that my life includes Alec, one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. That I get to be a part of his fun, his discoveries, and even his struggles. So, happy birthday little man. I love you with all my heart.
