A little help, please.

After being away from the blog for a week, I decided that I should give you an update on the knitting. The sun was out, the deck had mostly dried from the rain, and I was ready for a photo shoot.

First up, the Clapotis.

Isn't it beautiful? This project is close to my heart as it is for someone very dear to me.  It is practically knitting itself.  The pattern is very easy, and I get an unreasonable thrill when its time to drop the next line of stitches.  The color is called Petal Shower, so I had to take pictures next to my favorite flowering bush.

Problem? The whole photo shoot reminded me that after 8 years in this house and 8 summers of sighing over the lovely pink flowers surrounding the deck, I still don't know what the heck these flowers are called.

Anyone know? Anyone?

While you are considering the great plant question of 2009, take a look at the current socks on the needles:

The yarn - Gems from Louet. The pattern - Diagonal Lace Rib from Socks from the Toe Up.

I did have to make a slight adjustment to the pattern. It was coming out a little loose despite having gauge. I cut out 6 sts from the foot. I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do with the cuff. The design is an 8st repeat. Perhaps taking out a repeat? Normally I would have gone down a needle size, but that would have sent me into the 0 range, and we don't go there.

I've got some exciting things to tell you about tomorrow: WWKIP day (the alternate) and a book signing with one of our favorite famous authors!
