Day 2

I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to write anything yesterday, but that is all for a good reason. We had a fabulous opening day and were busy for most of the day. It was so wonderful to have so many friends and family stop by to cheer us on! My grandparents and aunts and uncle drove 3 hours to see the shop and my grandmother ordered a custom made pillow. How's that for family support?

Mom and dad took turns helping us out. There is an absolutely hilarious story about Dad coming down here that Mom made me swear not to put on the blog. Too bad, really, because I almost died from laughing when I heard it. Peter's parents gave us the best present in the world of watching the boys for the day and they are taking them again this afternoon. My younger brother Jason, and his wife Andrea, sent us the prettiest flowers to celebrate our opening day. And we got a surprise visit from Brad's parents from Ohio. (Brad is a good friend from my grad school days at William and Mary.)

We also had a number of people NOT related to us stop in and check out the store. Brunswick is a wonderful community and the support and encouragement we have received has been amazing. Many people expressed an interest in Thursdays' Knit at Night so I am excited that we may get a strong community knitting group going. Others came in with suggestions for classes that I think will be great additions to the schedule we are already planning.

All in all, it was a wonderful, if not exhausting day. After retrieving the children last night, Peter and I mindlessly devoured a pizza and collapsed. But, thanks to Peter's famous (at least in our family) Sunday morning waffles, our energy is back and we are ready to do it all over again!
